Look for Your Woman!

Look For Your Woman
Call For Papers

The second interdisciplinary conference of the Trauma and Gender in Literature and Culture Research Group of the Eötvös Loránd University will take place in Budapest, 4-5th December 2014.

“Look For Your Woman” aims to address such themes as women’s cultural tradition, iconic women and their achievements, and the life and work of previously unknown or forgotten women.

We seek contributions from those who consider women’s cultural tradition important and who are interested in applying the interdisciplinary perspective of gender and women’s studies to their research. We welcome presentations applying a strictly academic style as well as presentations representing a more personal attitude.

We invite proposals for papers on any aspect of the conference theme from researchers, teachers, undergraduate and graduate students. Possible themes include but are not limited to:

  • the life and times of famous and previously unknown or forgotten women authors, scientists, doctors, inventors, artists, sportswomen, activists, politicians, modells or average women
  • the analysis of their works and achievements
  • the role of women in literary, scientific and cultural tradition

For individual papers, please send a 100-word proposal as an attachment to an email addressed to keresdanod@gmail.com. Please include your name(s), institutional affiliation (if any), paper and/or session title(s), and contact information.

Deadline for proposals: 6th October 2014
